CubeWerx Announces CubeWerx® Web Registry Server Solution
Gatineau, Québec, Aug 23, 2004 -- CubeWerx, a leading provider of spatial data warehousing and OGC compliant web services software products, today announced the release of its CubeWerx® Web Registry Server solution.
Implemented as a component of a web services-oriented architecture this product nicely integrates into Spatial Data Infrastructure implementations. These implementations are often characterized by their web portal applications supporting the discovery of metadata about geospatial data and geo-processing services. CubeWerx® WRS supports the discovery and binding to these web resources using the latest OGC Catalog version 2.0 Specification adopted by the OpenGIS® Consortium in August 2004.
“This new product is part of the CubeWerx mandate to respond to Spatial Data Infrastructure requirements using web-enabled and interoperable specifications,” said Edric Keighan. “CubeWerx continues to be in the right place at the right time responding to SDI requirements and anticipating how geospatial standards will evolve. Designed and implemented as a standalone information retrieval specification the OGC Catalog 1.0 has evolved into a true web-based specification presented as an integrated element to a services-oriented architecture.”
CubeWerx and its distributors, Geoleaders in the U.S. and MapWerks in Australia invite organizations that have implemented geodata discovery capabilities to investigate the cost benefits of evolving existing implementations towards a web services-oriented architecture. Some benefits include the ability to cost effectively support one or more meta-data models including changes to these meta-data models over time, ability to support meta-data discovery across meta-data models using the concept of core properties, ability to support search and discovery of OGC web services meta-data in addition to well known meta-data about geospatial data, ability to support associations between meta-data objects, ability to categorize meta-data objects, and the ability to dynamically support web-enabled meta-data transactions in a dynamic SDI environment etc…
As a result of CubeWerx’s direct involvement in the development of the recently approved OCG Catalog 2.0 Specification, the CubeWerx® Web Registry Server is now available and one of the very few SCOTS products that will conform to the new OGC Catalog 2.0 Specification.
