CubeWerx Presents CubeSERV® Mobile at CIPI-1 Demonstration

CubeWerx presented its interoperable wireless technology, CubeSERV® Mobile, during final demonstrations of OpenGIS® Consortium's CIPI -1 pilot project

Windsor, Ontario - March 28, 2003. CubeWerx recently took part interoperable wireless technology, CubeSERV® Mobile, during a series of demonstrations ending the OpenGIS® Consortium Critical Infrastructure Protection Initiative Phase 1 (CIPI-1)

CIPI -1 Phase 1 focused on the use of open standards to establish a common understanding of an emergency situation and coordinate incident response. These demonstration were built around an hypothetical scenario, a serious incident involving an hazardous chemical. With the help of a wireless application, running on a handheld device, it was possible for an observer out in the field to capture, add/delete features and associated attribute data

The features where hosted by CubeWerx' Spatial Data Warehouse technology, CubeSTOR®, and access to the geospatial data was facilitated by OGC-compliant Web Map Server, CubeSERV® WMS, and Web Feature Server, CubeSERV® WFS.

According to Edric Keighan, CEO of CubeWerx: "The demonstration clearly established the case for deploying wireless applications, that can fully leverage interoperable Web Map Servers and Web Feature Servers."
