CubeWerx Inc. Releases CubeWerx™ Suite v 2.10

HULL, Quebec -- CubeWerx Inc., a leading provider of Spatial Warehouse Solutions for geospatial data infrastructures today announced a major new release of its Spatial Warehousing software technology. CubeWerx™ Suite v 2.10 contains significant product enhancements, delivers new functionality and introduces new web-based services products, in particular a new CubeSERV™ family of products.
Built from OpenGIS® Consortium (OGC) specifications CubeWerx™ Suite v 2.10 includes a new breed of Web software products. These are self-contained, self-describing, modular applications that can be published, located, and invoked across the Web. Once a CubeWerx™ Web Servce is deployed, other applications (including Web Services from other software vendors) can either discover and invoke the service or be discovered and invoked by the deployed service.
As an important contributor to OGC activities CubeWerx, in co-operation with participating companies, agencies and universities, leads the development of new web-based service specifications that enable access, distribution and geodata processing via the Web. The key idea behind OGC geodata processing interoperability is that a range of geodata stores can be made accessible to distributed web services for simple integrated map views or complex geodata processing services. For example, a geodata user equipped with a standard web browser can search for data and access Web Services at different locations. As well, they can operate on data in different formats, projects and datums, integrate the data; and display these in a single map view with an OGC compliant Map Server product.

The OpenGIS® Consortium and other geodata infrastructure organizations, such as the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure (CGDI) are offering software vendors like CubeWerx a new and unique model for developing web-enabled, off-the-shelf products within a multi-vendor and multi-testing open technology specification environment. As a result CubeWerx' solutions look less and less like islands of functionality. Many levels of governments (including local governments), utilities and other participating geospatial infrastructure organizations are direct beneficiaries of web-enabled, interoperable geo-processing and the chaining of services being implemented.
Cost avoidance, complexity management and interoperability are creating a new business model based on web-enabled services. Web Services are a new breed of Web software products. They perform functions, which can be anything from simple requests to complicated business processes. Consistent with this model, CubeWerx™ Suite v 2.10 product includes the following product components: CubeSTOR™ Spatial Data Warehouse, CubeSERV™ Feature Server, CubeSERV™ Cascading Map Server, CubeSERV™ Cascading Download Server and CubeVIEW™.
